Gladys B. Loeffler

Gladys B. Loeffler of Florissant, MO, passed away at the age of 90 on Saturday, November 28, 2020. Gladys is survived by her children, Diana Lyn (the late Michael Viets) Reising, John (Stacey Kirkpatrick) Hunciker, and Barbara (Colin) Mersman Ascroft; her seven grandchildren; her 13 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Loeffler; her daughters, Linda Meanor and Patricia Meng; her parents, John and Kate Thompson; and her siblings, Donald Thompson, Clyde Thompson, Jocie Moss, and Verta Wall.
In her youth, Gladys worked for Abeney Saddle Shop where she had the experience of putting the silver dollars on a saddle for Roy Rogers. She worked hard every year to maintain a beautiful garden of flowers and vegetables and she canned her harvests so that she and her loved ones could enjoy great-tasting food whenever they wanted. Her talent for quilting and embroidery work were well-known and over the years she created many lovely things. Gladys had a loving, motherly personality and she would take all her children’s friends under her wing to make them feel cared for. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
