Glen E. Guilliams, born on September 4, 1919, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2019. He married Norma L. Horrell in 1938, and was the son of William Omar and Ora Guilliams. Preceded in death by his parents; his wife Norma; his son Bob; and his brothers and sister; William, Tony, Fred, Charles, and Helen.
Survived by his children, Jerry (Sandy) of Wright City, Missouri; June Goebel (Ron) of O’Fallon, Missouri; Gail Lamb Kraai (Joe) of O’Fallon, Missouri; and Gary (Candy) of Maryland Heights, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister-in-law Ginny Guilliams and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glen proudly served his country with honor in the United States Navy in the Pacific theatre during the Second World War, on the USS Meriwether. Earlier however, he began his working career standing on the street corner in downtown St. Louis, selling boxed lunches to factory workers at the tender age of six. Later, he owned and operated the Wentzville Food Locker with his wife Norma. He was the assistant manager of the Jayce Fairgrounds Village until 1999, and worked in real estate part time until his late eighties. He was a member of the St. Louis Lion’s Club and was Man of the Year in 1958. He was also a big supporter of the Boys Town of America. He loved children, dogs and cats. He enjoyed watching the Cardinals, wrestling, playing pool, and barbecuing for his family and friends.
