Goellner, Gloria (nee: Bersch) of St. Charles, MO, died on April 7, 2016 at the age of 95.
Preceded in death by husband H.C. Goellner. Dear mother of Kim (Dan) Dillon and the late Tracy Goellner. Beloved “Grammy” of Kylie and Mackenzie Dillon and “Great-Grammy” of Cameron McKelvie.
Apart from her family, Gloria’s greatest passion in life was Art. She was a fashion illustrator for various publications and dress designers in the garment district on Washington Avenue. Gloria’s watercolors, oils, sculptures, and drawings have won numerous awards. Retrospectives of her work have been displayed at Lindenwood College and the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles. When the Foundry Art Centre opened, they chose her Retrospective Art for their very first show.
Gloria was a charter member and past president of the St. Charles Artists Guild, and served as a lobbyist for the Missouri Citizens for the Arts in Jefferson City. In 1994, she was presented with the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce “Cultural Award.”
She was a proud member of the Academy of Professional Artists, Media Nine Artists, the Oak Leaf Artists in St. Peters, and the Sinawiks.
Gloria lived life to its fullest and enjoyed every minute of it. Friends of Gloria and her family are invited to a celebration of Gloria’s life at the Foundry Art Centre, 520 N Main St, St Charles, MO 63301, on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foundry Art Centre of St. Charles.
