Gottlieb Tuma, age 94, of St. Charles, Missouri, died Saturday, October 24, 2009, in St. Charles. Son of the late Gottlieb and late Anna Tuma (nee: Smitka). He was born on June 5, 1915, in Du Quoin, Illinois. Gottlieb was married to the late Margaret A. Tuma (nee Stewart) on August 1, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri. Gottlieb entered into service of his country on September 24, 1943 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri as a member of the U.S.Army during WWII. He was discharged December 11, 1945. During his time in the U.S. Army Gottlieb was awarded four Bronze Service Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. Gottlieb worked as a delivery person for the Boyd's Clothing Store for more than 40 years before his retirement. He enjoyed Television, sports and playing cards. Gottlieb is survived by his Children, Jerry (Barbara) Tuma, Carol (Roger) Allen and Mary (Ron) Pohlman; his Grandchildren, Gary (Laura) Tuma, Diane Lock, Julie (Leo) Oberle, Lisa (Daniel) London, Ryan Pohlman; his great-grandchildren, Nicole, Jason, Victoria, Courtney, Isabella and Samual. He was a dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. Gottlieb was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret A. Tuma. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, October 26, 2009, at 10:00 AM at the Baue Funeral and Memorial Center Chapel, 3950 West Clay Street, St. Charles, MO. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Normandy, Missouri 63121.
