Grace F. Harmon (nee Meyer), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at the age of 95. Loving wife of the late Raymond W. Harmon; beloved daughter of the late Edward H. and Elsie A. Meyer; devoted mother of Jan (Rick) Dickson and Lynn Harmon; cherished grandmother of Elizabeth (Jason) Jones, Jenny (Brian) Brown, Anna (Joel) Parker, Bradley (Katharine) Harmon, Daniel (Courtney) Harmon, and James Buell and great-grandmother to 15. Grace is preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Courtaway.
Grace was a woman full of faith and passion for serving her community. She was a highly respected businesswoman, philanthropist, and volunteer. Grace was a founding member and elder of New Hope Presbyterian Church. She held many titles throughout many organizations, putting her passion for education and healthcare first. Grace dedicated many years to Lindenwood University’s Board of Directors and St. Charles Public Schools. She was the past president of St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, a member of Sunrise Rotary, The Athena Program and was awarded the Citizen of the Year award in 2002. Grace was on the SSM Health Foundation Boards and, along with her husband, Raymond, underwrote the SSM St. Joseph Heart and Lung Rehabilitation Center which was named in their honor. Raymond and Grace both had generous hearts and created the Raymond & Grace Harmon Charitable Foundation which was established to give back to the community they loved. Grace was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Grace's name to New Hope Presbyterian Church, Lindenwood University, or Raymond & Grace Harmon Charitable Foundation.
