Gregory H. McIver, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the age of 70, while at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Loving husband of Veta Mclver for 44 years; beloved son of the late Robert and Mary McIver; brother of Robert McIver Jr.; devoted father of Kim (Eric) Vavere and Chad (Elizabeth) McIver; cherished grandfather of Malia and Ryland; dear uncle and friend to many.
Greg was born on September 20, 1949 in Mission, Kansas. At the age of 5, he contracted the Polio virus, only years before the vaccine became available to the public. Despite the adversity of Polio, he was an avid athlete and accomplished golfer. One of his fondest memories as a child was playing in a golf tournament with the Hall of Fame golfer, Tom Watson.
Greg lived most of his life in Saint Charles, Missouri after meeting his wife, Veta and starting a family together. He was a successful business owner in the steel industry for 38 years and an active golfer, until the affects of the Polio lead him to a wheelchair.
Greg was known as a generous, honest and caring man, that always put his family first. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
