Harold C. Gordy

Gordy, Harold C., age 92, of St. Charles, Missouri, formerly of Lakewood, Washington, Wheaton, IL and Canajoharie, NY died peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 surrounded by family. Loving husband of 68 years to Helen 'Becky' Gordy; beloved son of the late Harold Cecil and Worl Mae Gordy; devoted father of Jane Elizabeth (Donald) West, Richard William Gordy, Susan Katherine (David) Gordy Epstein, and Thomas Charles (Roland Galindo) Gordy; cherished grandfather of Stacey (Matt) Chapman, Jeffrey (Nicole) West, Katherine (Jack) Stahoviak, and Grant William Gordy; treasured great-grandfather of Jacob Chapman, Sean Rose, and Russell Stahoviak; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
College sweethearts, Harold and Becky were married on the Illinois College campus in Jacksonville, IL. While on military leave from the Navy, Harold took the last train from Chicago in the nick of time for his wedding. He remained a devoted husband and father for his remaining years. Harold, a food chemist, spent his professional years as a business executive in Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania and WashingtonState. He was a master duplicate bridge player, a great golfer and proudly served his country during WWII, but most of all he loved and cherished his family.
