Beloved husband of Amanda Schaefer (nee: Coleman); dear son of the late Alwin and Hilda (nee: Hemsath) Schaefer; loving father of Gene (Tanya) Schaefer, Cindy (Garry) Kleekamp, Vickie Bruening, Gary (Karen) Schaefer and Sherry Kuchta; cherished grandfather of Cory, Michael, Brian, Jennnifer, Derek, Andrew, Jaclyn, Kyle and Haley; dear brother of Irene (Clarence) Gronefeld, Dorothy (John) Ostmann, Verna (Harold) Hackman and the late Erwin Schaefer; dear brother-in-law of Eunice Krause. Mr. Schaefer was a member of Friedens UCC and Friedens UCC Men's Club. He was a member of the St. Charles County Coop Board for 18 years. Mr. Schaefer was an avid bowler and toy collector and also a member of the Knights of Columbus Horseshoes.
