Memorial contributions may be made to King of Kings Lutheran Church in Chesterfield Missouri. Harry R. Hammond, Jr. of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, died on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Martha J. Hammond (nee: Wehmer); dear son of the late Harry R. Sr. and Beverly Hammond; devoted father of Diane (Paul) Johnson, Harry (Anne) R. Hammond III, and Kathryn (Joseph) Bargiel; grandfather of David Hammond, Christopher Hammond, Thomas Denk, and great-grandfather of Alexis Denk and Olivia Denk. Most of his working life was spent in the insurance industry and culminating in 25 years with the Worker Benefits Plans of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. He retired in June 1995. Throughout his life he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, reading, and serving as both a Stephen Minister and Stephen Minister Leader. A Celebration of Harry's life will be at King of Kings Lutheran Church, Chesterfield, MO, at 2 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2010. Internment will be in Evansville, Indiana at the Lutheran Cemetery during a private family service.
