Harry Robert Baumer

Harry Robert Baumer, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the age of 78. Loving husband of 41 years to Beth Baumer; beloved son of the late Robert and Alma Baumer; devoted father of Brian (Karen) Baumer, Craig (Margaret) Baumer, and Patrick (Sarah) Baumer; cherished grandfather of Jack Baumer, Cody Baumer, Brittany Baumer, Ethan Baumer, Lydia Baumer, and Grayson Baumer; dearest brother of Dale (Pam) Baumer, Shirley (the late Richard) Welch, Wanda (the late Richard) Boggs, Dodie (Bob) Magnussen, the late Roberta Welch, the late Gary Baumer, and the late infant brother, Russell Baumer; dear brother-in-law of Harvey Welch and Judy Baumer. Harry was also preceded in death by his niece, Stephanie Clark and his nephew, Josh Crayne. He was a dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Harry proudly and honorably served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He worked as an expediting manager for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing and he retired after 42 years of employment. After retirement, he found a second work home with Baue Funeral Homes, where he worked as a service assistant for many years. Harry was well respected by his co-workers and made many friends throughout the years at both Boeing and Baue. As an outdoorsman, Harry loved deer hunting and bass & trout fishing with his son, Pat. They especially liked visiting Bull Shoals Lake and Mark Twain Lake, and Rockbridge. He also enjoyed traveling to Colorado and spending time in the mountains. Other travel spots included Florida, Charleston & Myrtle Beach SC, the Dominican Republic, and pretty much anywhere there was a beach. Harry was a longtime St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and he always looked forward to going to the games with his wife. Over the years, he enjoyed the history of the stadiums being built for the team in St. Louis. In his spare time, Harry liked to revel in World History. He enjoyed military history, watching the History channel, and reading books to learn more about the past. Harry was a jack of all trades and could take care of just about anything around the house, and he always made it look easy. He could be relied upon to fix anything from a leaky dishwasher to repairs on the car. Harry will be remembered as a patient man who loved his family and cherished being with them. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
