Helen Hill Thomas, born January 25, 1929, died December 19, 2020 with her children at her bedside. She was born in Garrett, Indiana, the only daughter of Harry and Anna Pierce Hill and graduated with an RN from Methodist Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was a recovery room nurse for 34 years at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, MO and touched hundreds of lives through her kindness and empathy. She was a volunteer with Volunteers in Medicine and the Red Cross. She provided transportation to patients that needed assistance getting to doctor appointments or cancer treatments.
She was a loving mother to her three children, Kathleen Burke of Charlotte, NC, Patricia McNamee of St. Charles, MO and Richard Thomas of Palm Harbor, FL. She was a loving grandmother of Nathan Oesch of Charlottesville, VA, Aerian Oesch of Charlottesville, VA, Brian Thomas of Lincoln, NE, James Thomas of Omaha, Nebraska, Benjamin Hallemeier of Kirkwood, MO, Shannon McNamee of Kirkwood, MO, Michael Burke of Charlotte, NC, Graeme Burke of San Francisco, CA, Brian McNamee of St. Charles, MO, Sean McNamee of St. Charles, MO and Robert McNamee of Kirkwood, MO. She was a loving great-grandmother of Harrison H. Hallemeier.
Helen, until recent years, was an active member of First St. Charles United Methodist Church. She loved to travel and in her younger days could be seen on the back of a motorcycle or waterskiing. Helen was immensely proud of her family. Her empathy, love and caring of others is a legacy she has passed on to her children and grandchildren.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.A private family graveside service will be held, and a celebration of life will be held on a later date.
