BRISCOE, Helen M., St. Charles, died on Friday, June 30, 2006, at age 98. She was born September 2, 1907 to Frederick W. Litteken and Anna (Redell) Litteken. As a young woman,proceeding and during the Depression, she worked for General American Life Insurance. She married J. Randolph (Randy) Briscoe on November 27, 1930. After years being a homemaker and raising her children, she served as secretary for St. Charles Borromeo Church for over 22 years until her retirement in 1988. She was corresponding secretary for many years for the St. Charles Community Council, a member of the St. Charles Historical Society, the Ladies’ Sodality of St. Charles Borromeo Church, and she served on numerous committees. She was a charter member and past president of the Zonta Club of St. Charles. She is survived by two sons, Circuit Judge, Joseph R. Briscoe and daughter-in-law, Joan, St. Charles; Thomas W. Briscoe and daughter-in-law, Cheri, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and one daughter; Mary H. Jarvis and son-in-law, Phil, Winfield Kansas; eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, her parents and her five brothers and sisters.
