Helen Marie Walsh

Momma was a very gentle lady but lived a hard working life. She was raised on a farm and lived most of her adult life in St. Louis. She loved her home and her garden and would not tolerate a single weed to grow in her yard. Our clothing was washed and ironed to perfection. Another of her many talents was her gift to bake the most delicious pies, cobblers and cookies. She loved nature, animals and taught us never to fear a storm. She was so happy to visit Mary Lou in Switzerland and happy to visit Rome and see the Pope. Helen, Maureen, Lou and Mary Lou took a trip to visit Ireland and kissed the ''Blarney Stone.'' She believed and promoted education for everyone. Her gentle smile will be greatly missed. WALSH, Helen Marie, Cary, North Carolina March 22, 2004 age 88, dear wife of the late Louis A. Walsh; preceded in death by her parents Henry and Corinne Bextermueller; gentle and loving Mother of Maureen Walsh Vollmer (Arthur) and Mary Lou Walsh; sister of Margaret Gusnard, Bernadine Dunsford, Corinne Fehlig, Sister M. Joanella SSND, Marian Burns and Cleo Maher; preceded in death by her brothers Adolph, Henry, Bernard, Eugene and Lawrence Bextermueller and sisters Bertha Bextermueller and Gertrude Orf; Mrs. Walsh was the beloved Nana of Grandson Joseph Vollmer (Linda), Granddaughter Laura Vollmer, GreatGranddaughter Sarah Vollmer and GreatGrandson Andrew 'Joey' Vollmer. She was a loving Sister-in-law, Aunt, Great-Aunt, Godmother, Cousin and Friend to all with her beautiful smile.
