Helfred “Dee” Volz (nee: How) of Chesterfield, MO, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of Richard Lewis Volz for 60 years; cherished daughter of the late Alfred How and Helen Martin; devoted mother of Michael (Laurie) Volz, David (Pattye) Volz, and Carrie (Byron) Volz-Dewey; loving grandmother of Rachel Volz, Steven Volz, Caleb Volz, Sara Volz, Tim (Caroline) Carey, Seth Dewey, Collin Dewey, and Amanda Dewey; treasured great-grandmother of Timmy, Henry, and Flynn; dear sister of Linda (Stacey) Landers. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dee is also preceded in death by her brother, Alfred (Bud) How.
Dee was a founding member of Ivy Chapel United Church of Christ. She was an artist, seamstress, remarkable cook, gardener and decorator. Dee enjoyed hosting parties with her friends and relatives, and her home was always open to all. One of the things Dee enjoyed most was her gardening and beautiful plants. Her green thumb showed in her multitude of glorious flowers and plants in the yard and house. Dee was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
