Henrietta J. Cole, (nee Mennemeier) of O’Fallon, MO passed away at home on Monday, November 9, 2020 at the age of 90. Loving wife of James H. Cole; beloved daughter of the late Henry and Genevieve Mennemeier; devoted mother of James Cole Jr (Carol) of St Charles, Yvonne Welker (Gary) of St Peters, Steven Cole (Susan) of Athens, OH, Diane Farley (Kevin) of Aurora, CO, Christine Crawford (Jay) of O’Fallon, Joseph Cole (Julie) of Manassas, VA, and Victoria Randall (William) of Fulton; cherished grandmother of 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren; dear sister of Raphael (Mary Rose), Paul, Victor, Bertha Griewing (Gilbert), Eileen, Charles (Laverne), Albert, Mary Jo, and Barbara Waidmann (Donald).
She was born April 9, 1930 in Flint Hill, MO, and lived in Flint Hill, West Alton, and O’Fallon, MO growing up. After attending school, she was employed as a waitress in St Charles, MO, in a shoe factory, and at an electric company in Wellston, MO. She was married to James Cole on October 7, 1950 at St. Peters Church in St. Charles, MO. James and Henrietta moved to O’Fallon in 1958 and lived in the same house until his death in 2018. She then moved to Assisted Living at the Meadowlands in O’Fallon until her death.
Henrietta was a member of Assumption Parish in O’Fallon, MO. She worked in the cafeteria at Assumption School for many years where she loved seeing the children. Her Catholic faith was especially important to her.
Henrietta loved being a wife and mother and took great care of her family. She was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Her hobbies included embroidery, playing cards and Bingo, and travelling. She was a great friend, loved talking to people and making new friends.
Visitation at Assumption Catholic Church in O’Fallon November 13, from 9:30 to 10:30. Funeral mass will be at Assumption Catholic Church, O'Fallon, MO, November 13 at 10:30 AM.
