Dussold, Henry J., 89, of O’Fallon, Missouri, fortified with the sacraments of The Holy Mother Church. He died peacefully on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, the late Anna Mae "Maizie" Dussold, and his daughter, Donna Komadina (Tom). Henry was the eldest of 11 brothers and sisters, and survived by his loving children, Doreen (Tom) Gilliam, Judy (John) Copenhaver, Jan Steinhoff, Kathleen (Larry) Schlueter, Marianne Hawkins, Jerry Dussold, Terri Barr, Rob (Crystal) Dussold, and Steve (Tina) Dussold. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Henry had no time for hobbies except for public service. He was a very familiar figure at O’Fallon City Hall and in the O’Fallon community. A retired 65 year member of I.B.E.W. Local #1, a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, serving under five Mayors. Henry served for four terms as Alderman, winning his first race by 1 vote. “Your vote always counts.” He loved his country, being a veteran of WWII, serving on a mine sweeper, and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1945. Henry was a member of the American Legion Post #313 Honor Guard, a member of the VFW Post #5077, a member of the F.O.E. of Hermann, MO, and the O’Fallon Kiwanis Club. Henry was also a member of The Knights of Columbus #2269 and Tri-County Labor Club. His life has touched so many. He will be dearly missed. His deep faith was evident by his daily attendance at Holy Mass. He has made a profound difference in the life of all those that knew him. PLEASE, in lieu of flowers, make donations to the I.B.E.W.
