Herbert Cypret was born August 6, 1935, in Myrtle, Missouri to Cecil and Mellie Cypret (Weaver), and he married the love of his life Rachel Lawrence on June 12, 1955. Herb was a devoted husband to "Rachie" for 65.5 years and a beloved father figure to so many, before passing away on January 12, 2022, at age 86.
Herb is survived by his wife Rachel (nee Lawrence); sisters, Rachel McGee, Lois Cypret Williams; brother, Michael Cypret; brother-in-law, Dwight Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Naomi Jones, Ruth Combs, Judy Hopper; and his brother, James Cypret.
Herb graduated from Couch High School early and joined the Army Reserves at 16 years old, and he served six years before receiving an honorable discharge in order to work on spacecraft for McDonnell Douglas. He worked at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing for 37 years, while he also managed rental property and helped run their side business Finders Inc, with Rachel.
Herb was a dedicated and faithful Christian who loved and quoted much of the Bible regularly. He was an avid soul winner, counselor, mentor and encourager. Anyone who met Herb loved him immediately. He loved St. Louis Family Church and devoted much of his time to being an usher, teacher, and volunteer with Service International. He leaves an incredible example for us to follow on how to love and be a child of God. Herb loved his home on Garden Lane where he was able to enjoy the beauty of nature that made him so happy.
His smile, gentle spirit, heart of service, and unconditional love leave an empty spot in so many hearts, but Herb taught us, above all, to fill that space with the love of God.
As Herb often said, and always with a smile, "If I was any better I would be in heaven”… Welcome home faithful servant!
