Contributions may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Herman A. Lorenz, of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Monday, March 30, 2009 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of 34 years of the late Margaret E. Lorenz (nee: Cunningham) and 30 years of the late Doris M. "Dee" Lorenz (nee: Freiberg), dear son of the late Herman E. and Mary C. Lorenz, beloved father of Allan (Genie) Lorenz, Herman (Barbara) Lorenz, Peggy (Albert) Thomas and Wilson (Pat) Lorenz, dear step-father of Francis H. Cox, Jr., Patricia A. Winkler and Marvin W. (Bonnie) Cox; dear grandfather and step-grandfather of 15 and dear great grandfather and step-great grandfather of 18. Dear brother of Dolores Morgan, and the late Alois J., Harold F., and Lt. Col. Bernard C. Lorenz. Herman was the President of CEI Industries and Cryogenic Equipment, Inc. of Belleville from 1968 to 1978, and prior to that was a Vice-President of American Cryogenics of Atlanta, GA and Independent Engineering Company of O'Fallon, Illinois. He was an active member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, St. Charles, MO and a member of the Elks Club of Belleville, Illinois. Herman attended Cathedral High School in Belleville and he graduated from the University of Dayton in 1939. He then served in the United States Army where he was assigned to develop a program for industrial gas production during WWll at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He achieved the rank of Captain.
