Herman H. “Skip” Kaveler, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Claire L. Kaveler; devoted father of Michael H. Kaveler, Robert (Vera Fujimoto) Work and Jennifer ( Randy Moutray) Dornseif; loving grandfather of Justin Dornseif, Joshua Dornseif and Nathan-Kenji Fujimoto Work; dear brother of Elizabeth (Marvin) Kriesmann and brother-in-law of Katherine (Alan McCanney) Hammond and Benjamin (Sara) Brown; beloved uncle, cousin and friend to many. Herman is preceded in death by his parents Wilfred and Irma Kaveler.
Skip was a technical writer for Boeing for many years. At 53 he received his degree in Computer Science from Webster University. He was a member of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and a member of St Charles Council # 823 Knights of Columbus. Skip was very active throughout his life. Skip was a skydiver and member of the Greater St. Louis Parachute Club, serving as president for several years. He had his pilot’s license with a commercial and instrument rating. Skip worked with Boy Scout Troop # 975 for 16 years, serving as a scout master 3 of those years. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group, St Charles Missouri HOG Chapter.
Skip proudly served in the United States Air Force, serving as support in the pre-Vietnam era.
Skip was an organ donor; he donated his tissue and his eyes were donated for medical use for child hearing restoration.
Skip was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Skip’s name to St Jude's Children's Hospital or Tunnel to Towers.
