Herman Poepsel

Herman Poepsel of O Fallon, Missouri, passed away on Sunday October 15, 2017, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Louise K. Poepsel; cherished son of the late Wilfred H. and Eleanor Poepsel; devoted father of Tom Poepsel, Marsha (Billy) Hartgrove, JoEllen (Mark) Wieczorek, and the late Gary Poepsel; loving grandfather of Janet Brown, Laurie (Ted) Zaleuke, Jennifer (Carl) Hines, Rachel (Brett) Grohmann, and Jessica (Bryant) Hurt; treasured great-grandfather of Fletcher, Danielle, Olivia, Harrison, Ella, Drew, Evan, Eden, Reese, August, Hayden, and Kennedy; great-great-grandfather of Grayson; and treasured son-in-law of the late August and Rose Neier. Also survived by his dear brother and sister, Gene (Barb) Poepsel, and Dorothy (Bill) Kilday.

Herman was an active member of Assumption Catholic Church and the O’Fallon Knights of Columbus #2269, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved woodworking, creating many toys for his children and grandchildren over the years. Herman was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
