Herschell H. Richmond

Memorial contributions may be made to National Alliance for the mentally Ill. Herschell H. Richmond, Ferguson, MO, November 21, 2003, age 88. Beloved husband of Muriel L. Richmond; loving father of James A. (Cynthia K.) Richmond and Jeannie Richmond; dear brother of Lloyd (Phyllis) Richmond, Ralph Richmond and Alice Wolfe. Mr. Richmond was a member of Florissant Valley Christian Church and Elder Emeritus. He served as Senior Editor of Adult Publications at Christian Board of Publications in St. Louis (1960-1980). Prior to his appointment to the editorial staff of Christian Board of Publication in 1960, Mr. Richmond served as a pastor of local churches in West Virginia and Minnesota. His pastorates included the Vinson Memorial Christian Church, Huntington, W. VA., Central Christian Church, Fairmont, W. VA., and First Christian, Rochester, MN. During World War II he served four years as a Naval Reserve Chaplain with a naval construction battalion in the Pacific theater. A native of West Virgina, Mr. Richmond graduated from West Liberty College, West Liberty, W. VA., and received his doctorate in Biblical Studies at the Divinity School of the University of Chicago and further attended Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, KY.
