VanBooven, Deacon Howard J., of O'Fallon, Missouri, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the age of 71. Loving husband of Susan C. VanBooven NEE: Black; beloved son of the late Victor and Ida VanBooven; devoted father of Howard J. and Steven VanBooven; cherished grandfather of Brendan, Blake, and Allison VanBooven; dear brother of Ken (Karen) VanBooven, Tony VanBooven and Wanda (Don) Schaeffer; dear brother-in-law of Sandra Alessi and Richard Black; beloved uncle, cousin, God Father, and cherished friend to many. He is preceded in death by his brother, Glennon VanBooven. Howard was ordained as a Permanent Deacon in The Archdiocese of St Louis June 9, 2001. He is a member of Assumption of the B.V.M. Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Missouri and has served as a Deacon there since his Ordination. Howard also has been a Hospice Chaplain for St. John's Mercy Hospital for 9 Years.
