Ida Regina "Jeannie" Hartmann
God sent his angels today to bring our sister Jeannie home. Ida Regina Stanek Hartmann went peacefully from Barathaven Caring Center on Saturday, December 4, 2021. She was 76 years. Jeannie, as she was called by family and friends, was born February 19, 1945 to Paul and Dorothy Stanek of Hawk Point, MO. She attended St. Mary' Catholic School in Hawk Point and was a 1963 graduate of Buchanan High School in Troy.
After graduation, she and her sister moved to St. Louis. Jeannie worked as a photographer for various retail stores. She especially liked taking photographs for families and the challenges of working with the little ones. Jeannie married Richard Hartmann of St. Louis on March 4, 1970. Jeannie was a devoted and loving mother to Richard's 4 children: Nancy, Linda, Carolyn and Steven. They resided in Hazelwood until their children started their own careers. Richard's jobs took them to Kentucky where Jeannie again worked with a photography group called Studio Girls. As retirement was creeping closer, they moved back to Missouri to a home at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Retirement was a word that never worked for Jeannie. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister who loved her family and enjoyed including them in all her endeavors. Jeannie loved baking, crafting, football, but her favorites were playing cards and fishing. A visit to her home, you knew you'd be heading to the dock with bait and a fishing pole; then later back to the house for card games or dominoes. Jeannie's patience and kindness would shine as she would show nephews and nieces "the tricks and techniques of fishing".
Jeannie was also a devoted and active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Osage Beach. Her membership in the LWML allow her to use her God given talents for missions of her Christian faith. She was an active planner in doing bake and rummage sales or helping to plan special events for the holidays. She especially enjoyed vacation bible school and helping with lunches when school resumed in the Fall. Jeannie is survived by her many brothers and sisters: Ed (Glenda) Stanek of St. Charles, Frank (Sharon) Stanek of Hawk Point, Charlotte Smith of Flint Hill, Evelyn Hueffmeier of Wentzville, Dottie (Jim) Caldwell of Troy, Audrey (Frank) Roth of Hawk Point, Pat (Mike) Mottert of St. Charles, Bill (Gail) Stanek, Bob (Pam) Stanek, John Stanek, Joe (Karen Stanek) all of Hawk Point. Also surviving are her loving stepchildren: Nancy (Kent) Parrish of Springfield, Linda (Stanford) Stewart of Lafayette, California, Carolyn (Tom) Morris of High Ridge, and Stacy Hartmann of St. Louis and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Dorothy Stanek, her sister Mary Wisely, a sister-in-law Arnie (Mennemeyer) Stank, 3 brothers-in-law Roland Smith, Hobert Hueffmeier and Richard Wisely, a nephew Patrick Stanek, her stepson Steven Hartmann and her husband Richard Hartmann.
