Ira V. Chandler, Sr.
November 20, 1928 — June 2, 2018
Ira V. Chandler, Sr., of University City, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn Chandler; cherished son of the late Ruby Wherry; devoted father of Ira V. (Leslie) Chandler, Jr.; proud grandfather of Michael, Matthew (Yasuyo), Ira (Ashanae) III, Laura (Stephen), and Whitney; and loving great-grandfather of Matthew Jr., Jaliyah, Kingston, Athena, and Sebastian. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters.
In addition to his wife and mother, Ira was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.
Ira proudly served his country for over 20 years in the United States Army. He was also a member of the NRA and a Mason. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
The Chandler Family would like to express gratitude and special thanks to Patricia Luckey Rose who was Ira’s friend and caregiver.
