Irene East (nee Carpenter), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late John C. East and special friend of the late Sidney Fults; cherished daughter of the late Elliot E. and Audrey M. Carpenter; devoted mother of Barbara A. Hansen, Thomas E. (Bonnie K.) East and Steven (Connie) Fults; loving grandmother to 7 grandchildren; treasured great-grandmother to 26 great-grandchildren; precious great-great-grandmother of 4 great-great grandchildren; dear sister of Robert M. (the late Kathy) Carpenter, Dennis R. (Maureen) Carpenter; beloved aunt, cousin, and friend.
She is also preceded in death by three sons, Robert Alan East, Dan R. (Sharon) East, Jerry D. (Cece) East, John Fults and Kathy Ward as well as 7 brothers and sisters.
Irene was a strong, independent woman who was firm in her beliefs, yet she was kind, giving, and generous. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Irene was devoted to her family and extended family.
Irene was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Irene’s name to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
