Irene W. Ermeling, recently of Goodyear, Arizona, died on May 6, 2015 at the age of 93. She previously lived in St. Charles from her birth in 1922 until she relocated in 2008 to live with her daughter in Maryland. Both her daughter and older son retired in Arizona and she joined them in 2013. Irene was preceded in death by Fred (Fritz) Ermeling in 1991. She was the beloved mother of Vernon Ermeling of Litchfield Park, AZ, Ruth Ann Colross also of Litchfield Park, AZ and Daniel Ermeling of St. Louis. She was the beloved and fun loving grandmother of Brad Ermeling (Tustin,CA), Ryan Ermeling (Gilbert,AZ), Mike Ermeling (St. Louis) and Tim Ermeling (St. Charles). She was the beloved great grandmother of three great granddaughters- Lexi, Tessa and Grace Ermeling, of Gilbert, AZ. She is also survived by three devoted nieces and one nephew who have faithfully remembered her (Dale Lindemann, Nancy Haarmon, Carol Piper, and Janice Gutermuth). Irene was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was also active at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie, MD. She used her excellent sewing skills at JC Penny's alteration department and later did alterations in her home. She served at Immanuel in the Mothers Club, Evening Guild, Mothers Club Alumni, Sunday Morning Donut Fellowship, and Boar's Head. Many hours were spent volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital and for Hospice. Her motto was Psalm 37:4-'Commit your way unto the Lord, trust also in Him and He will bring it to pass'---and 'Don't Worry, Be Happy!'
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 29 at 10:30 AM . Memorials can be given to Lutheran High School of St. Charles County.
