Irvin Wessler, age 96 of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Verlee Wessler; cherished son of the late Alvin and Elsie Wessler; devoted father of Dan (Debi) Clark; loving grandfather of Scott (Kathryn) Clark, Laura (Michael) Mogenson, and Tyler Clark; treasured great-grandfather of Maddox Mogenson, Elliana Clark, Delaney Clark, and Bennett Clark. Irvin is preceded in death by his sons Thomas and Michael Clark, brother Kermit Wessler, and sister Ruby Ianke.
Irvin proudly served his country with honor in the US Army during WWII, and was a long-time member of the VFW Post 2866 and American Legion Post 312, both in St. Charles. One of his lifetime passions was helping US troops during their deployment, by volunteering his time for St. Charles Mobile Troop Support. He put in many long hours putting together care packages, to help those dedicated men and women through their difficult time away, far from home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling, and will be remembered for his warm and sociable nature. He was very outgoing, everyone he met was a friend. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Irvin was a dearly beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Irvin’s honor to St. Charles Mobile Troop Support.
