J.C. Gongaware

J.C. Gongaware was born August 7, 1948 in Meadville, PA and passed away in St. Peters, MO on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the age of 69. J.C. is survived by his loving family: wife, Nancy Gongaware (nee Kubinec); son, Jason Michael Gongaware; sister, Diane (Jack) Kinsey (nee Gongaware); nephews, John R. Kinsey and Michael C. Kinsey; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry "Clarke" Gongaware and mother, Janet Gongaware (nee Sanner).

J.C. proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Ground Communications Specialist from 1968 to 1972 and also served in the Air Force Reserves from 1986 to 1987 as a Flight Engineer on a C-130. He earned his Master’s degree in Aviation Safety and dedicated most of his career to aviation. He was the owner of Gongaware Aviation and retired from TWA – American Airlines after 15 years of service.

J.C. was a member of First St. Charles United Methodist Church for many years. He enjoyed many hobbies such as auto racing and was a member of the Sports Car Club of America for 39 years. He also enjoyed wine making and gardening and even earned his Master Gardening Certificate. J.C. was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
