Jack Michael Broadway peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of October 11th, 2023 in the arms of his loving parents at just 22 months old.
Jack was born to Jessica and Scott Broadway on December 7, 2021 in O’Fallon, Missouri. He gave Logan the title of big brother and completed their family.
Jack fought a very courageous battle with a rare progressive neurological disease called Leigh Syndrome. His family was unaware of the health challenges he would face, until at nearly ten months old he developed some concerning symptoms. The next year was spent in and out of the hospital searching for a diagnosis and ways to keep Jack comfortable as his symptoms progressed.
Some of Jack’s favorite things included watching Moana, Woody, and Buzz Lightyear, playing “Where’s Jack?” with Daddy and Logan, and snuggling with Mommy. His big blue eyes, fuzzy hair, and smile so bright it could rival the sunshine will never be forgotten. He touched countless lives, and his story of bravery & perseverance impacted so many. His family’s hearts are broken that he is no longer physically here, but there is comfort knowing he is free from his disease and that they will be reunited with him again someday.
He is survived by family who love him “to infinity and beyond!” - his parents Jessica and Scott, big brother Logan, grandparents Ellen & Don Broadway, Sandy Harney, and Gregg Harney, great-grandmothers Margaret Daft & Gloria Broadway, aunts & uncles Alison (Allen) DeGraw, Mackenna Harney, Christie (Jeremy) Elmendorf, cousins William, Lillian, James, Brody, Wesley, and Hudson. He is preceded in death by his cousin Chase Elmendorf, great- grandparents Glenda and Tom Jeffrey, Eleanor and Albert Harney, Robert Daft, and Don Broadway.
A celebration of his life will be held at Baue Cave Springs on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023. His visitation will begin at 10 am with a service to follow at 11 am. After the burial, there will be a luncheon at St. Charles Knights of Columbus.
