Jack C. Witt

November 13, 1935 — June 17, 2021

Jack C. Witt, of Saint Peters, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at the age of 85. Loving husband of Betty Joan Witt; beloved son of the late Nelson and Rose Witt; devoted father of Ricky (Rebecca) Witt and Jerry (Kathleen) Witt; cherished grandfather of Matthew (Wendi) Witt, Ashley (Keith) Ricker, Tiffany (Jim) Omohundro, Sarah (Robbie) Hamer, Jacob (Ashley) Witt, Abigail Garcia, and Tyler Witt; treasured great-grandfather of Quinton Fetrow, Braxton Witt, Jackson Hamer, Isabella Witt, Aubrey Hamer, Miles Hamer, and Emily Omohundro; dear brother of Roland Witt, Alberta Tuepker, the late Charles (Mary Ruth) Witt and the late Peggy (Andy) Overkamp; brother-in-law of Bonnie Tuepker, Dolores (the late Carl) Davis, and Mary Richter.

Jack proudly and honorably served in the United States Marines during the Korean War and the Vietnam War.  He was a member of Wentzville VFW Post 5327.  After his service in the military, he worked for General Motors as a repairman on the assembly line, and he retired after 32 years.

As a man of faith, Jack was a devoted member of West Alton Community Church, where he attended for many years with his wife.

Jack had a green thumb and liked tending to his garden.  He enjoyed tinkering around with things, and was always working on something, usually cars, electrical, plumbing, or just regular household repairs.  He could usually be found whistling while he was working.

On the weekends, Jack loved getting in the car with his wife and just simply going for a ride.  They liked to visit family in Marthasville, Augusta, Warrenton, and Troy.  He was very much a family man, and always looked forward to spending time with family, especially the grandkids.

Jack had a major sweet tooth, and always had ice cream and candy on hand.  He enjoyed watching the Cardinals play on TV.  And, he was always happy and loved to sing.

Jack was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Memorial contributions may be made in Jack's name to Alzheimer's Association.

Baue Funeral Homes is currently following CDC recommendations regarding mask and social distancing policies.
