Beloved husband of Kathryn McDermott, loving father of Sean and Brandon McDermott (Tiffany); proud grandfather of Mallory McDermott; dear brother of Jack McDermott; preceded in death by parents, Matthew and Margaret McDermott, brother, Matthew McDermott, and sister, Peg DePrender; uncle of Michelle Schmitt (Keith) and Margie Simon (John); great-uncle of Meghan Schmitt, George, Johnny, and Mary Simon. Missed by many other family members and friends. He was a former police officer with the St. Louis City, Florissant and Dellwood Police Departments, and was a member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians
