James D. “Jim” Ballmann, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the age of 91. Loving husband of Anna Rose Ballmann; beloved son of the late Lawrence and Alma Ballmann; devoted father of Mike (Karen) Ballmann, Dale (Patti) Ballmann, Dan (Marilyn) Ballmann, and Mark (Lynn) Ballmann; cherished grandfather of Jim Ballmann, Christopher Ballmann, Dana (Darren) Pieper, Andy (Erynn) Ballmann, Teddy Ballmann, Jennifer Ballmann, Jamie (Danny) Conoyer, Jake (Kelsie) Ballmann, and Taryn Ballmann and Tori Ballmann; treasured great-grandfather of Ava, Maxx, Michael, Henry, Wyatt, Charlie, Oliver, and Maelee; dear brother of Helen Hilgedick, Jo Ann (David) Hoelscher, Dolores "Tootsie" Trentmann, Beloved Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. Jim is also preceded in death by his grandson, Brad (Brittney, survives) Ballmann; siblings, Mary Elda "Tippy" Feldmann, Ralph Ballmann, Lawrence Ballmann, Audrey Aholt and Charlie Ballmann.
Jim was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in O'Fallon, Missouri, the O'Fallon Knights of Columbus, former member of Board of Directors O'Fallon Fire Protection District, O'Fallon VFW Post # 5077, and the Painter's Union District Council 2. Jim was a volunteer Fire Fighter for the O'Fallon Fire Protection District for 30 years.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman, teaching his boys how to fish and hunt as they grew up. Jim loved his family and was a devoted father and grandfather and loving husband for 66 years to Anna Rose. Jim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
