James D. Shelton, of Weldon Springs, MO, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at his home at the age of 73. Jim was born on April 3, 1948, in St. Charles, MO. Beloved husband of Theresa Shelton, cherished son of the late Lawrence and Lucille Shelton. Devoted father of Erika (Brian) Shelton-Cooley; loving grandfather of Rider Cooley of Hermosa Beach, California.
He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri in St. Louis and Master of Business Administration from Fontbonne University in 1987. He served in healthcare management as a Senior Vice President for the former Rehab Care Corporation in St. Louis for 25 years. Jim was a veteran and served as a combat medic in Vietnam. He was active is supporting veteran’s causes and organizations.
Jim also had a passion for music and sang in several church choirs and the Missouri Choral Society. He combined his musical talents with a deep love of family and friends and was known for his quick wit and a compassionate spirit. He was also active in supporting St. Louis University Liver Foundation and Cancer Research.
Jim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
