Tuhill, Sr., James F. , of St. Louis, Missouri, died on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the age of 88. Loving husband of the late Helen Tuhill (nee: Schwartz); beloved son of the late James F. Tuhill, Sr. and Millie Tuhill; devoted father of James F. Tuhill, Jr., Janice (Terry) Fadler, and Joni (Larry) Stulce; cherished grandpa and great-grandpa of many; dear uncle, great-uncle, and cousin to many. He is preceded in death by his sons Joseph F. Tuhill, John F. Tuhill, and Jerry F. Tuhill, sister Mildred Brockman, great-granddaughter Ashley Tuhill, and cousin Hazel Tuhill.
James proudly served in the U.S. Marines during WWII fighting the battles at Tarawa, Okinawa, Saipan, and Tinian, then he was reactivated during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Mallinckrodt after 40+ years as a Chemical Worker, and was the president of the Chemical Workers Independent Union. In his spare time, James enjoyed crossword puzzles, woodworking and building clocks, model planes, and was an avid reader of history. He also loved going to Clearwater Beach every year with his wife Helen. He loved his family and his grandchildren more than anything, and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
