James G. Byrnes

James G. Byrnes of St. Charles Missouri died on Friday May 31, 2002 at the age of 83. He was the dear husband of the late Rosemary Byrnes, dear father of Julie, Jack (Jeannie), Tom (Dee), Bob, and Bill (Mari Kay) Byrnes, dear brother in law of Louise Byrnes, dear brother of the late Ulysses Rutledge and Elwood L. Byrnes, dear grandfather of Jeff, Kristi, Kevin, Ryan M, Jacki, Meagan, Ryan C., Joshua, and Sarah Byrnes, dear friend of Mary Craden, he was a dear uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many. Mr. Byrnes was a Certified Flight Instructor and was named the National Flight Instructor of the Year in 1984. He was honored with the Navigational Fix - Byrns in September 1999. Mr. Byrnes was a Past President of The Greater St. Louis Flight Instructors Association and was on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Pilots Association. He was the President of the Gateway Chapter of the Missouri Pilots Association for six years and was a member of and received the President's Citation of the AOPA.
