James Howard Woody of Wentzville, MO passed away on October 2, 2020 at the age of 67 after a lengthy battle with melanoma. Known simply as "Woody" to family and friends alike, he was born on May 30, 1953 in St. Louis, lived in Berkeley and Farmington during his youth, and resided in Florissant, St. Charles, O'Fallon, and Wentzville in his adult life. Woody was always known for his sense of humor, ability to fix just about anything, love of travel and trains, and most notably his willingness to go out of his way to lend a hand to others. He excelled in an automotive career spanning five decades.
Woody is survived by wife Patricia (Hayes); brothers Andrew and Robert of Farmington and Joseph of Ft. Smith, AR; children Manda Miller (Brad) of Florissant, Trisha Finley (Dennis) of Land O'Lakes, FL and Matt (Devon) of Wentzville; and grandchildren Emmelinne, Ashley, Olivia, Eleanor, Ethan, Joshua, and Weston. He was predeceased by parents John and Evelyn (Downing). The family would like to thank so many that have shown great care and friendship to Woody over the course of his lifetime and expressed concern throughout his illness.
A memorial service will take place at First Christian Church of Florissant, 2890 Patterson Road, Florissant, MO 63031, on Sunday, October 11 at 3:00 pm with visitation one-hour prior.
