James J. Ryan

Ryan, James J., January 7, 1927 – February 21, 2016. Husband of Virginia (nee: Roth) Ryan for 61 years. Father of Mark (Roxann) Ryan, Dan Ryan (Minka Mujkanovic), Dave (Robin) Ryan and Jim (Sue) Ryan. Grandfather of nine, great-grandfather of one. Born in St. Louis, raised in Mexico, MO; an Army Air Force veteran of occupied Germany in 1946; a St. Louis University-Parks College Aeronautical Engineer graduate in 1953; a resident of Glasgow Village and parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church in North St. Louis County for nearly 50 years. Jim was a career employee of McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corporation. He worked for 31 years and then was retired for 31 years. Respected family man, master tinkerer, volunteer and a good Catholic, husband and father who set a high bar of integrity and character with a quiet dignity.
