James “Jim” Michael Simpson

September 7, 1947 — June 17, 2021

James "Jim" Michael Simpson of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 73 on Thursday, June 17, 2021.

The only son of Palma Simpson, James, better known as Jim Simpson was born and raised here in St. Louis, MO. He spent most of his youth on the river with his mom and early on met the love of his life of 53 years, Bobbie. They married and had their two children Michael and Heather who gave them their 4 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter.  Jim’s truest passion in life was always music.  His strongest instrument was his voice but he also played piano, keyboard, bass, guitar, and loved trying any instrument and learned all music by ear.  His musical career continued and expanded when he was given the honor to run sound for the Russ David Orchestra. Jim had a real passion for gardening and creating water features in his and Bobbie’s yard. His creativity seemed endless to all who knew him.

He is survived in death by his wife Bobbie nee Dell, son Michael (Leah) Simpson and daughter Heather (Donnell) Wiley, grandchildren Alexandra Wiley, Madelyn (Dalton) Doyle, Lily Simpson, and Anna Wiley, and great grandchild Lucy Doyle.

Memorials in James’ name may be made to Five Acres Animal Shelter.
