James “Jim” Otto McCormick, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Shirley Ann McCormick; cherished son of the late Harlan Keith McCormick and Beulah Fern Carley. Devoted father of Dianne (the late Jerry) Hagan and Nancy S. Moss; loving grandfather of Kyle (Melissa) Hagan, Molly Hagan, and Brenna (Jason Zack) Moss; loving great-grandfather of Savannah, Brenton, and Tanner Hagan; dear brother of Fred (Virginia) McCormick, the late Noel (Barbara (surviving)) McCormick and the late Shirley (the late Robert) Ciesielski; loving uncle, cousin, and friend.
Jim proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was very patriotic and a proud veteran. Jim was a member of American Legion Post 312, Immanuel Men's Club, and a member of the running joke, the "I Decline Club." He had an infectious sense of humor and his dry wit could bring smiles to anyone. Jim was very meticulous, especially with his car. He and his wife were avid travelers enjoying their journeys to Germany and Alaska to name a few. Above all, Jim was a man of God and loved his family immensely. He was a loving husband to Shirley, a dear father, and was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather. Jim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in James's name to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
