James “Jim” Potts

January 30, 1933 — December 25, 2017

James “Jim” Potts, of Rocky Mount, Missouri, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Janet Potts (nee Moore); devoted father of Doug (Denise) Potts, Melinda (Tim) O'Shea, Regina (John) Garofalo, and Dave (Helana) Potts; loving grandfather of Michael Potts, Andrew Potts, Melissa O'Shea, Timothy O'Shea, John (Kate) Garofalo, and Carlee Garofalo; and soon-to-be great-grandfather.

Jim was born on January 30, 1933 in Booth, West Virginia to the late Arthur and Nola Mae Potts. He graduated from Morgantown High School in 1951 and soon after joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for 4 years. Jim later attended LeTourneau Technical School where he graduated in 1959. Following graduation, he began a long and dedicated career as a licensed A & P Mechanic for Delta Airlines in St. Louis for 33 years.

Jim was a member of Faithbridge Church in Osage Beach, Missouri. He was an animal lover and could often be found feeding the stray animals. He especially looked forward to feeding the Eagles every winter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping in his bus. Jim was a handyman and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed his friends at Faithbridge Church and Delta. Most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Jim was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
