Entered into rest on Friday, September 17
th, 2021 at the age of 82. Loving husband of 55 years to Connie (nee Mier) Walker; dear father of Lisa and Jeffrey (Alisha) Walker; beloved grandfather of Payton Walker; dear brother of Carol (Jim) Blake; dear son of the late Mark and the late Lucille (nee Arnett) Walker; loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Jim earned his Bachelors and Master’s degrees at the University of Missouri Rolla where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. For his entire adult life, Jim was proud of the fact that he put himself through school. Later, he earned an MBA from Webster University in St. Louis. He took pride in being well-read and instilled the values of getting a good education in his children. Jim had a strong work ethic and poured himself into his work. He spent over 56 years as an engineer at Boeing (formerly McDonnell Aircraft Company and McDonnell Douglas). He was still employed full-time at the time of his death.
As a lifelong learner, Jim was an avid reader. He enjoyed staying active, relaxing at the lake, boating, water skiing, and watching sports; especially the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs. His greatest pride and joy was his wife, his children, his daughter-in-law whom he love like a second daughter, and his beloved granddaughter. He cherished time spent with them at the holidays and on weekends and vacations. Jim is remembered as being strong, quiet, and kind. He gave his family everything they needed with his whole heart. He was generous. He is deeply loved, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
