James Keeser

August 16, 1959 — September 1, 2018

James "Jim" Keeser, 59 passed away September 1, 2018 after a tough battle with cancer. As Jim said on his facebook page: ‘I'm a happy go lucky kind of guy who's in the process of kicking cancers ass.” He definitely kept a good attitude while dealing with the nasty cancer. Jim was not a shrinking violet and you usually knew when he was around. He was a tall guy, almost always had a grin on his face, and was known by various nicknames like Big Daddy, Big Jim, and Jimbo. Jim loved fun and adventure, had a good sense of humor, and loved animals, especially dogs. He loved his family and was always the mischievous clown. While growing up there was seldom a picture of Jimmy without a goofy face or at least rabbit ears behind someone’s head. You just never knew what silly thing he would do, like when he was sent to get a hair trim and came back with a buzz hair cut the day of his confirmation. After returning to the St. Charles area a few years ago, he would often spend time off going to visit his parents and loved to play Rummykub with them in the evenings. Jim was close to his siblings. In his adult years he lived in Florida near Tom, then near Kathy in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, and when he returned to the St. Charles area, his brother Mark, was his roommate for a while. Trips with his brother Tom and sister Kathy were special times together to places like the Florida Keys and Gloucester, MA. His nephew was special to Jim and he was always willing to play and goof off with Jacob.

He knew a lot of people and had many friends, loved to have a good time from “7 until 7” and lived in various places in the St. Louis area, Florida and North Carolina. But his best buddies are those he grew up with in St. Charles, Mo. Jim and his crew always had fun laughing, and telling stories whenever they could. His buddies kept up their visits until the end and really perked him up during rough times. He liked talking and was good in the service industry as a bartender and waiter because he would talk to anyone, anywhere about just about anything. He also worked as a mortgage banker and in other business/industry jobs. In the past couple of years, Jim worked at General Motors in Wentzville and worked until it got too difficult earlier this spring. Jim had a large, fairly booming voice and he could be heard greeting and waving to all his co-workers at General Motors as he drove his vehicle around delivering parts or moving things around.

His dog Sneaky was quite his special companion and Jim cared for Sneaky through his dog’s blindness and diabetes when Sneaky needed four shots a day. Besides posting goofy or even controversial posts on facebook, he loved animal pictures and videos. Riding his motorcycle was always a favorite thing to do, especially with his good buddies. The trip with his brother Tom and four other good friends to Glacier National park was a favorite memory. He loved to travel and though he didn’t get to all the places he wanted to get to, he did spend a year traveling around the world. Last summer, while in his cancer battle, he took a few months off work and took various trips. Jim loved adventures included skiing, boating and scuba diving, especially when he lived in Florida, Key West in particular. He also tried all kinds of activities: sky diving, hang gliding, climbing, and even just about a month ago went zip lining. Jim loved and lived life fully and will be fondly remembered by his family, close friends, and by many other pals he made along his way in life.
