James “Jim” M. King, of Florissant, MO, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of 68 years to the late Joan King; cherished son of the late James Edward and Nadine Audrey King; devoted father of Liz (Paul) Spell, the late James "Michael" (Kendra) King and Terra Buzzanga; loving grandfather of Ryan (Dawn) Spell, Nicole (Daniel) Hogan, Lindsay (Zachary) Arman, Mandy (Corey) Hertweck, Autumn (Kellen) Locke, Bryce King, Laura (Stan) Garner, Alyssa (Nate) Durham, Aaron (Portialyn) Buzzanga, Rachel (Aaron) Mansfield, and Sarah (Danny) Gallegos; treasured great grandfather of 18; dear brother of William King, his late twin sister, Mary Allen, his late brother, Ronnie King, and his twin infant brothers. He is also survived by his dear four-legged friend, Penny.

Jim proudly and honorably served in the United States Air Force and was married to his beloved wife, Joan, for 68 wonderful years. He had a successful career at McDonnell Douglas as a technical writer, where some of his most notable projects were the Harrier and the F15.

In his free time, Jim enjoyed playing Blackjack and slots, spending time at the casino, and playing Bingo at the Veterans Hall with Joan. In his free time, you could often find Jim working on a home project, maintaining the yard, and playing corn hole. Jim had a passion for sports in his younger years and was quite the athlete, serving as the captain of the high school football team, and once walking on for his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. Known for his dry sense of humor and kind heart, Jim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Jim's name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
