Jim Crider of St Charles, Missouri died peacefully at his home on December 5, 2020. Steve and Lisa were by his side. Jim was born in Bland, Missouri on February 4, 1930. After he served in the US Navy, he married the love of his life, Dorothy (Dot) Amanda Crider. Jim and Dot were married over 62 years. They first lived in St. Louis, then Berkeley, and finally in St Charles for over 40 years where they were long time members of St John United Church of Christ. Jim spent most of his working years at McDonnell-Douglas where he was a hard working, well respected jet fighter mechanic. Jim spent his 30+ year retirement enjoying life with Dot and their family. He liked golfing, gardening and canning, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, visiting his grandchildren at Mizzou and Butler, vacations in Destin and Hilton Head with family and friends, helping his family finish basements, and an occasionally tall glass, with a single shot! All especially enjoyed Jim and Dot’s home where they hosted countless events and swim parties to celebrate holidays, birthdays and enjoy life with family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Dot, and siblings Floyd Crider, Willis Crider and Dorothy Benton. He is survived by siblings Cecil (Yoshiko) Crider, Naomi (Calvin) Luhring, Mary Rogers, Gladys Limberg, son Steve (Barb) Crider, daughter Lisa (Scott) Brown, grandchildren Eric (Courtney) Crider, Beth (Matt) Holtshouser, Louise (Shane) Blase, Emily (Tyler) Zimske, Amy Brown and fiancé Kyle Anders, Kendall (Mindy) Rackley, and great grandchildren Peyton Crider and Tucker Rackley.
