James M. Fitz

Fitz, 79, of St. Charles, MO, died on Saturday, July 11, 2009 from lymphoma. Loving Husband of Eva Marie Fitz, Devoted father of Mark M. Fitz (deceased), Nancy K. (Gary) Hinrichs and Martha J. Fitz; cherished grandfather of James, Kathryn and Caroline Hinrichs; son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George J. Fitz. He graduated from St. Charles High School, attended Washington University and served in the Korean conflict. His entire career was spent at the St. Charles Gas Company (now Laclede Gas Company). He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of St. Charles as well as a tireless volunteer for civic causes including the St. Charles County Association for Retarded Citizens, St. Joseph Health Center, the YMCA and Lindenwood University, Rotary International, the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, Industrial Development Authority of St. Charles County, Economic Development Commission/City of St. Charles, St. Charles County Economic Development Council, the Regional Chamber and Growth Association, St. Charles Community Progress and Crime Stoppers. His warmth and good humor will be missed by family and friends alike.
