James Louis Metz

James Louis Metz, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the age of 64. Cherished son of the late Kenneth E. and Frances L. Metz; dear brother of Steven L. (Paula) Metz and Ann Metz-Cutak; loving uncle of Gregory Metz, Devon Cutak, and Amanda Cutak.

Jim moved to St. Charles after graduating from High School in Antioch, California. He then attended Northwestern Missouri State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Geology (1986). Jim worked as a geologist on various projects throughout the Midwest. Afterwards he returned to the area and joined his father in his PC business. Both Jim and his father enjoyed the work immensely. He was a great lover of nature, and he enjoyed hiking, fishing, and camping. Jim was a true rockhound and delighted in collecting various samples and expounding on the wonders of the millions of years it took to create it. Currently, his hobby was riding his mountain bike around the various local trails. He enjoyed talking and visiting with his neighbors. His soft spot was, of course, his 2 cats which were always perched somewhere close at hand. Jim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
