James H. "Jim" Murray

Murray, Jim of Harvester, MO, passed away at home with his loving wife of 40 years by his side on October 20, 2023 at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of Mary Murray; devoted father of Mike (Olga) Murray, Kathi (Ron) Fry, Jeff (Donna) Murray, Jimmy Murray, David (Linda) Murray, Troy Murray, Eric Murray, Billy (Patty) Murray, Cathy Broski, and Laura (John) Harvey; loving grandfather to 20 grandchildren; treasured great-grandfather to 23 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his first wife of 28 years, Barbara Murray; his daughter, Lynn Murray; son Paul Broski; sister Pat McCrary; grandchildren Tressa Murray, Jason Murray and Theresa Murray.

Jim was in the tile & marble business for over 40 years, he was responsible for leading 6 of his sons, his brother-in-law and many others into the tile trade. He was a proud union member and the past president of health and welfare for Local #41. Jim was an avid hunter and loved teaching his 7 boys to hunt and fish. His youngest, Billy, was his lifelong hunting partner, he loved to hunt all kinds of game but especially deer and duck and he was proficient at it.

Jim loved his vegetable garden. There was never a year where he didn’t put a garden in. He was known for his amazing tomato plants.

Jim attended church with his wife Mary at Sts. Joachim & Ann where for many years, he and Mary worked at the food bank. He enjoyed helping others.

Jim was a very skilled, hard-working man and their home showed it with his handywork proudly displayed. Jim loved to laugh and loved playing with his great-grandchildren. He was an affectionate man who was loved by many.
