James E. Ohmes, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the age of 80. Beloved son of the late Mildred and Emil Ohmes; loving father of James P. Ohmes, Becky (Daniel) Reeves, and the late Stephen J. Ohmes; cherished grandfather of Bryce Reeves and Ashlynn Reeves; and dear brother of Gloria Ohmes.
Jim retired after more than 20 years with RX Systems as a machine operator. He enjoyed staying active in his retirement years, and being outdoors was what he looked forward to most. He loved taking care of his yard and he was very proud of it. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting, and spending time at conservation areas.
Jim loved spending time with his family and taking trips to Meramec Springs. He was a proud grandfather and enjoyed adventures to the pumpkin patch and the zoo with his grandkids. He had a passion for model trains and loved having his grandkids visit so he could share his enthusiasm with them. He built an entire model city in his basement and always looked forward to showing it off to his grandkids.
In his spare time, Jim collected coins and made this a hobby throughout his life. He was also a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues, which he had model trains dedicated to them as well.
Jim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made in James's name to Donor's Choice.
