James Raymond Romans

August 6, 1931 — September 26, 2021

James Raymond Romans of St. Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 90 on Sunday, September 26, 2021. He was preceded in death by his son, James Romans Sr. and infant daughter Dottie Romans; his parents, Raymond and Viola Romans; and five siblings.

James is survived by his children, Lydia Romans, Sue Whitehead, and Jerry (Laura) Romans; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his former wife, Veda Romans; his siblings, Bennie and Martin Romans; and he was an uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

James proudly and honorably served in the United States Air Force. He truly lived life to the fullest in the fast lane. James had a passion for anything with a motor. He had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying to new places and he loved to race cars. A skilled mechanic, James was always tinkering with his cars and other vehicles. He was a tremendous fan of stock car racing and NASCAR and looked forward to all the events/grand openings.

There was a special place in his heart for the outdoors and he was fond of hunting and camping with his family. He was an avid traveler who boated and skied whenever he could. James always knew how to have a good time and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorials may be made in James's name to Alzheimer's Associates or Wounded Warriors.

The family will be meeting at Baue, Cave Springs to go to Jefferson Barracks in procession. They will be gathering at the funeral home at 11:15am.
