James Steven Van Horn, of Dillon, CO, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at the age of 39. He was the cherished son of Kathy and Tim Mueller, dear brother of Christopher Burstadt and Andrew (Jennifer) Burstadt and bonus brother to Lauren Mueller and Matthew Mueller. He was the nephew of Lura (John) Hauck, cousin of Corrie (Bruce) Gibbs, Kevin (Nichole) Deptula, and the late Stacy Sullivant. Jim was the grandson of the late Wright and the late Rosemary Powell, Elmer Burstadt, and the late Barbara Burstadt.
Jim was passionate about the St. Louis Blues and was so excited to celebrate his lifelong dream of their Stanley Cup win. He was an avid poker player and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors – hiking, fishing, skiing and playing hockey. Whether it was Kickball or Frisbee, Jim was always ready to play. He was a creative spirit who enjoyed cooking, drawing, and entertaining his friends. He adored the dogs he had through the years, Sasha, Rex, and Fino.
Jim never stopped smiling and would light up a room whenever he entered. He opened his home to anyone who needed a place to stay or something that he had. Jim had a generous heart and never met a stranger. He was truly a kind and gentle soul. Jim was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Let’s Go Blues!!
